Cristine Reyes’ gorgeous date
Wednesday, 12 August 2009

MANILA, Philippines—Cristine Reyes took a gorgeous date named Gio to the birthday bash of show biz reporter Nelson Canlas at Linden Suites. Gio, Cristine’s childhood sweetheart, is an Atenean activist.

They have no commitment just yet but from the looks of it, they’re getting there. After her on-and-off romance with Dennis Trillo, Cristine is finally giving her heart another chance to find happiness. FHM’s Sexiest Woman’s body is in great shape—and so is her heart.

Mystery guy

Another gorgeous girl who’s back in the dating jungle is Karylle. K enjoyed watching “The Proposal” with her mystery guy.

“It will be unfair to talk about him at this point,” she says. “It’s not exactly dating, but learning from new people because I won’t grow if I limit myself to a certain clique.”

Will K’s heart find the clique that clicks with its every beat? Will the guy take the cue from the movie they watched and propose to K anytime soon?

Not her man

Rhian Ramos is ecstatic about bagging the much-coveted role of Jodi in GMA 7’s adaptation of the Korean hit telenovela “Stairway to Heaven.”

Any apprehensions about portraying Jodi? “It’s gonna take more energy, focus and depression than any other character I’ve done,” Rhian says.

Isn’t she wary that her team-up with Dingdong Dantes might make Marian Rivera jealous? “I really hope no jealousy attacks will occur,” she quips. But is it possible for her to fall for Dong? “It’s possible to fall for anyone I work with especially because of the amount of time, trust and teamwork the show requires,” she explains. “But I won’t give my heart to anyone I’m not meant to be with, either for personal or professional reasons.”

Hmm ... Rhian has no intentions of taking the stairway to Dong’s heaven.

Carlo J’s statement

The ongoing brouhaha about the National Artist award is such a sensitive matter. Artists are entitled to their eccentricities. It’s just sad when their passion for the arts collide.

From Tita Donna Villa, wife of Direk Carlo J. Caparas: “Carlo J has been helping lots of people through his big hits patronized by the public in komiks, movies and TV. Gusto ng mga detractors ni Carlo na siraan si President Arroyo using her choice of National Artists. The title connotes a perimeter of national honor, not sectoral. Kapag sila ang nananalo, natutuwa kami at walang reklamo. Kapag galing sa hanay natin sa show biz, masyado nila tayong minamaliit.”

Why crucify Carlo J for an award he didn’t beg for? Hopefully, this mess will be ironed out not just for art’s sake. One art, one heart.
