Synopsis:
At 2:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm "SANTI" (MIRINAE) {0921} was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 450 kms West Southwest of Metro Manila (14.0°N, 116.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. It is moving West at 22 kph. Meanwhile, a shallow low pressure area (SLPA) was estimated at 850 kms East of Luzon (16.5°N, 131.5°E).
Forecast:
Palawan will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thundertorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the East to Northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the East to Northeast with slight to moderate seas except during thunderstorms.
