I am part of a lost generation
and I refuse to believe that
I can change the world
I realize this may be a shock but
“Happiness comes from within.”

So in 30 years I will tell my children
they are not the most important thing in my life
My employer will know that
I have my priorities straight because
work

Once upon a time
Families stayed together
but this will not be true in my era

I do not concede that

Who do you believe in?
As a child we are tought certain things by our parents, teachers, television influencial iconic figures and the society we live in. Depending on your upbringing or social position, these views and beliefs can be altered and naturally swayed over the course of your life. The world is a big place, filled with various cultures and religions and if you've ever traveled or consider yourself to be socially concious, your brain could have absorbed a wide array of knowlege that can depict your standpoint on certain personal beliefs you may have. I was born to what the world would call, a "religious woman." However, as I grew and learned the difference from what the 'world' calls something and what may naturally be, I found that at least for myself, the closer we feel we are to the TRUTH, the further infact we actually are. I'm sure you've heard of the demi-goded Greek culture's various gods and goddesses and other stories that strike our imagination. Our infatuation with the after life possibility, depictions of Heaven and Hell and Hollywood's interpretation of the ongoing fight between good and evil (remember Constantine)? All of the stories, books and movies undoubtedly affect our viewpoints in some way or another. After all, the people behind them are human and it takes imagination to strike imagination. However, lest you know the 'real' truth, your mind may wonder in search of it.What belief best fits you?
This is an interesting question that was raised: God verses religion. Religion was created to supposedly help us worship God, but religion sometimes takes control. I believe most religions start with the object of focusing on God, and worshiping him. Somewhere along the way the religious leaders and the congregation loose focus of God, and start to focus on what they believe should and should not be done. This is not a recent problem either. Even Jesus had this problem with the religious leaders of his day. One of the major problems Jesus saw was the the leaders took over the worship of God, and created it into what they wanted it to be. Weather this was done to have control over the people, or that they themselves actually got so lost in what they perceived as the law that they lost sight of what they were suppose to be doing.Answering question of God vs
